Pest control on the Central Coast
The Central Coast is the southern end of our run.
Central Coast Council was formed in 2016 out of Gosford City and Wyong Shire, and the 2021 census counted 346,596 people across its 1,681 square kilometres. Most of the Coast’s houses sit on a fairly dense coastal strip. Inland of the Pacific Highway, the council area is largely native bush running back to the Watagan Mountains, and it comes right up behind most of the western suburbs.

What Coast properties need from us

A paper wasp nest under the corner of an eave.

Ants trailing up a door jamb.
A termite inspection takes in the trees near the house as well as the building. Where the bush comes up behind a block, one of those trees can hold a nest.
Buyers on the Coast search for a building and pest inspection far more often than for a pest inspection on its own. The pre-purchase inspection page explains which half we do. It is the half that finds termite damage, and it is worth having while the cooling-off period still has days left in it rather than after.
On the beach side of the highway as much as the bush side, general pest treatments cover the house inside and out.
Inland of the Pacific Highway the bush runs back to the Watagans, and the houses along that edge get what the bush sends them: spiders, ants, and rodents in the roof once it turns cold. Cockroach control runs on both sides of the highway all year. In a unit or a food business it is usually German cockroach, which is a different treatment from the ones that wander in from the garden.
Wasp nests build through spring and are at their worst by January, which is also when they are most likely to be somewhere people walk past.
Businesses go on a scheduled programme rather than a one-off visit, with a register kept on site. Commercial pest control sets out how that runs.

Termite inspections on the Central Coast
The Australian Standard sets inspection intervals at no more than twelve months. In a high-pressure area, along the coast or anywhere with high humidity, we recommend every six months. Central Coast Council’s area has more than 90 kilometres of coastline.
Thermal imaging and moisture detection are included in every termite inspection. If an inspection finds activity, the termite control page explains what happens next, and the termite treatment page covers the work itself. The treatment does not wait for the next scheduled Coast day.

When we're down on the Coast
The Coast gets a day of its own rather than being picked up on the way to somewhere else, and a booking waits for the next one. An early call gets you a better date. If you have found live termites, say so when you ring, because that job is scheduled ahead of the routine work.
Between December and March we are busy everywhere, and Coast days fill faster through those months. A spring booking tends to land sooner than a January one.
Booking a Coast job
Have the suburb ready when you ring, because on the Coast it decides which scheduled day your job lands on. Late in the day, use the contact page to send it with a photo instead. There is no call-out fee and the price is fixed before anything starts.

Local questions
Central Coast pest control questions
How far down the Coast do you go?
Gosford and Erina, which are the southern edge of our area. The peninsula south of Gosford is outside it, and Wyong and The Entrance, to the north, are covered.
Can you get to the Central Coast this week?
Sometimes, if the next Coast day falls this week and still has room on it. How soon we can be on site depends on where you are and the time of year, and you will get a real date on the phone rather than an optimistic one.
Do you do building and pest inspections on the Central Coast?
The pest half, yes. That is a pre-purchase pest inspection with a written report your conveyancer can use. For the other half you need a licensed building inspector, booked separately. The report goes straight to your conveyancer if that suits them better.
Which end of the Coast are you on more, Gosford or Wyong?
Both. We have clients at each end of the Coast, and every suburb at the Wyong end is covered as well.
What decides the price of a job down here?
The number of buildings and what is being done to them. An inspection on a house at Terrigal is a different job from one on a block with a shed and a garage behind it, and a treatment is priced on what the inspection actually found rather than guessed at beforehand. Where your description is clear enough we give you the figure on the phone, and where it is not we look first.
Do you do end of lease pest control on the Central Coast?
Yes, and the treatment comes with a certificate the tenant can hand straight to the agent. Book it against the agent’s final inspection date instead of your move-out date, so there is room if the next Coast day does not line up. Details are on the end of lease page.
