Pest control in Muswellbrook
Of the three Upper Hunter towns on our run, Muswellbrook is the middle one, between Singleton and Scone.
Coal has been mined here since the late 1800s, and the town has the older housing to go with that history. Outside it, the shire’s 3,405 square kilometres are rural country on every side.

Termites
Termite inspections around Muswellbrook and Denman
In town, the year a house was built sets the timing, and an older one comes due for its next inspection sooner than a newer build.
Around Denman and Sandy Hollow the properties are rural, and an inspection out there takes in more than the house. How that is scoped is on our rural pest control page.
Thermal imaging and moisture detection are included in every termite inspection. In an older house, the moisture meter can find damp timber before any damage shows. On a rural block with sheds beside the house, the camera helps decide which building to open up first.

Where Muswellbrook sits in the diary
We are up this way less often than we are around the lake, so Muswellbrook work is booked further ahead. It is a run we put in the diary, though, not a trip we make only when someone asks. Active termites do not wait for the next run. That job gets brought forward.
Summer is when the wait runs longest. Each Upper Hunter run takes a whole day, so when December fills, it fills a day at a time. If the sheds are due, ring in winter.
Before you ring
First, tell us if it is in town or out on a rural block. A place nobody has looked at in years gets a longer booking than a house checked last spring. For a rural block, have ready what our rural pest control page asks for. We work every day of the week. Check our contact page for the hours.

Local questions
Pest control questions from Muswellbrook
Can you do a house in Muswellbrook and a property out at Denman on the same day?
Yes. A house in town and a block near Denman can both be booked for the same date. If both are yours, or a neighbour has been meaning to book, mention it when you ring.
Can a business in Muswellbrook be on a programme, given the drive?
Yes. Each visit goes onto an Upper Hunter day as it falls due, and if something cannot wait for the next one, that visit is brought forward. Our commercial pest control page explains how a programme is set up. Let us know what kind of site it is.
The contract has a deadline for the pest inspection. Can the run meet it?
Usually, if you ring the day you get the contract. Give us the deadline before anything else. A Muswellbrook inspection has to wait for a run up the valley, so notice counts for more here than it does closer to home. How soon we can be on site depends on where you are and the time of year, and you will get a real date on the phone rather than an optimistic one. More on our pre-purchase pest inspections page.
If the inspection finds termites, do you come back up for the treatment?
Yes, on the next run up. Treatment is planned from the inspection report, which makes it a second visit wherever the property is. Before we go, you will know roughly when that visit falls and what to leave alone until then.
Is a block out past Denman priced higher than a house in town?
Only if there is more to do there. A house in town and a rural block near Denman are priced on their size, their buildings and the work they need, not on how far out they sit, because Upper Hunter jobs are booked as a full day on the run. A block with sheds costs more than a house because there is more on it to inspect or treat.
Either end of the Upper Hunter run
Singleton is closer to home and shares the day with Muswellbrook, while Scone is further up the highway and marks the far end of it. The service areas page lists every other town and suburb we cover.
