Pest control in Lake Macquarie
Lake Macquarie is not a small place. Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake sits in the middle of it, with 92 suburbs around the water and about 32 kilometres of open ocean coastline on the eastern side. Our base is at Caves Beach, and the suburbs around the lake are core territory for us: Belmont, Cardiff, Marks Point and Balcolyn among them.
We were a finalist in the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards in 2025. It is judged locally, by a panel from the Chamber of Commerce.

The jobs that keep us busy around the lake

If your house has never had a termite inspection, book that before anything else.
Cockroaches, ants, spiders and rodents in the house are a job for our general pest treatments. General treatments carry a six month warranty, provided the preparation and after-care advice is followed.
Some of the lake’s suburbs are small rural-style communities. If your property there runs to sheds or paddocks as well as a house, book it as rural and acreage work.

Termites
Termite inspections around Lake Macquarie
Termites need moisture and timber. Every side of Lake Macquarie has waterfront and bushland-backed housing, which keeps both close at hand.
The Australian Standard sets inspection intervals at no more than twelve months. In a high-pressure area, along the coast or anywhere with high humidity, we recommend every six months. Thermal imaging and moisture detection are included in every termite inspection. That is how a damp subfloor gets found before it turns into damage.
The termite control page sets out what an inspection looks for, and the termite inspections page covers what happens on the day.

How often are we around the lake?
Most days, which is why a Lake Macquarie booking usually lands sooner than one in the Upper Hunter or on the Central Coast. Live termites are the exception to all of it: find activity and that job goes to the front of the queue.
Between December and March the diary fills and lead times stretch. If you can, ring before the weather warms up instead of waiting for the first ant trail.
What to tell us when you ring
Lead with the suburb, since that tells us which side of the lake the job is on. After that, describe what you have found. Where we can, we price it on the phone from that description. When a job needs seeing before it can be priced, we arrange a visit first. Weekend bookings are fine because we work seven days, and the contact page lists the hours.

About
The second opinion
A Lake Macquarie homeowner close to retiring rang us for a second opinion on her house. We found termite damage that came to about $80,000. Paying for the repair meant refinancing. She worked out that it would keep her at work for roughly six more years. A job that size is not the exception around here.
The full account and the tools that found the damage are on the termite inspections page.

Local questions
Your questions about pest control in Lake Macquarie
Are you actually based in Lake Macquarie?
Yes, at Caves Beach, down the southern end of the lake. We have no shopfront, so ring or email and we come out to you.
Do you cover the western side of the lake, Toronto and Morisset?
Yes, both, along with Rathmines, Wangi Wangi and the rest of the western shore.
How quickly can you get to Belmont or Swansea?
Belmont and Swansea are the closest run we do, so they are quick for us to reach. How soon we can be on site depends on where you are and the time of year, and you will get a real date on the phone rather than an optimistic one.
Is Lake Macquarie a bad area for termites?
It has what they look for, with water and bushland close to houses right around the lake. A termite inspection is how you find out whether they have reached yours.
Do you charge more for the far side of the lake?
No. There is no call-out fee and the price is fixed before anything starts. The same goes for Wyee and Wangi Wangi.
Is an inspection every six months double the cost of a yearly one?
Not necessarily. Each visit is priced on its own, and a house on a six-month schedule is booked into an existing run, which shows up in the price. A house checked that often is also a quicker job than one nobody has looked at in years, so ask for the regular price when you ring.

We work in Newcastle daily, and its inner suburbs are listed in full on the service areas page. Over the southern boundary is the Central Coast, and inland to the west are Cessnock and the vineyards.
